LIFETEEN
Gina-Marie Loree Open to all High School youth, LIFETEEN provides a safe environment for teens as they are led closer to Christ. Weekly gatherings begin on Sunday with our LIFETEEN Youth Mass at 5:30 p.m., followed by our LifeNight, which consists of food, fellowship, and issues facing today's teens. A mix of community service and social activities makes LIFETEEN very popular with our high school teens. Interested adult leaders (CORE Team) are encouraged to call GinaMarie for requirements and information. Visit us on Facebook.

The Youth at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church have always been actively involved in service work. Over the past few years, especially over the summer months, the youth have been involved in "bigger projects". Last year, a group of existing 9th through 12th grade teens attended a week-long service camp in Tampa called Catholic HEART Workcamp (CHWC). These camps are held in over 40 cities all over the United States and in 1 international location. Their mission is to share the love of Jesus and serve the neglected, brokenhearted and marginalized in any way needed.
Last year we did yard work, home repairs, worked at a boys and girls club, sorted clothes for the poor and the homeless - did anything that needed to be done. This summer we plan to attend CHWC in Charleston, South Carolina and we plan to take twice as many teens with us this year.
The total cost is $650.00 per person. This includes bus transportation, meals, housing to and from Florida for 7+ days. We have already been fundraising to offset the cost.
Our hope is that you will consider all the teens gain from immersing themselves in an experience like this. They:
Strengthen their friendships with others; Develop healthy relationships with their peers; Develop a stronger sense of self worth; Learn more about their faith; Deepen their relationship with God.
The future is now for our youth and investing in them now, ensures we have a future.
Thank you.

Registrations for our Catholic Heartwork Camp Summer Mission Trip are now open. This year we will be going to Charleston, S.C. from July 14 to July 21. Camp is open to all teens who entered the 9th grade in the fall of 2011 and older. We have reserved 21 spots at this location. The total cost of the camp is $650.00 but we plan to continue to fundraise to offset this price. Like last year, we hope that most will only have to pay the deposit, if they work the fundraisers. We plan to continue to fundraise to offset this cost. An initial non-refundable deposit of $150.00 is due by February 29. Our first informational meeting is February 16 at 7pm in Trinity Center and is mandatory. Additional registration information is attached.

Ever wish Mass were more interesting? One of the ways to make Mass more interesting is to understand more about the Mass. You can do this by reading the readings before Mass. Did you know our Facebook page now provides a weekly reflection on the upcoming readings for the week? So, pull out your Bibles, and read the readings, reflect on them, journal, maybe even put them into action, all before Sunday Mass! This and other great information is located on our Facebook page so don't forget to "like" our Facebook page @ http://www.facebook.com/notifications#!/pages/Holy-Name-of-Jesus-Lifeteen/118103858227251 .

February is dedicated to The Holy Family
Joseph got up, took the child and his mother by night, and departed to Egypt, and remained there until the death of Herod.
This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the
prophet, “Out of Egypt have I called my son.”
Matthew 2:13-15 RSV-SCE O most loving Jesus, Who by Thy surpassing virtues and the example
of Thy home life didst hallow the household in which Thou didst choose
to live while on earth, mercifully look down upon this family, whose
members, humbly prostrate before Thee, implore Thy protection. Remember
that we are Thine, bound and consecrated to Thee by a special devotion.
Protect us in Thy mercy, deliver us from danger, help us in our
necessities, and impart to us strength to persevere always in the
imitation of Thy Holy Family, so that, by serving Thee and loving Thee
faithfully during this mortal life, we may at length give Thee eternal
praise in heaven.
O Mary, dearest Mother, we implore thy assistance, knowing that thy divine Son will hearken to thy petition.
And do thou, most glorious patriarch, St. Joseph, help us with thy
powerful patronage, and place our petitions in Mary's hands, that she
may offer them to Jesus Christ. Amen. |
