Catechism Quote

Still, the Christian faith is not a "religion of the book." Christianity is the religion of the "Word" of God, a word which is "not a written and mute word, but the Word which is incarnate and living". If the Scriptures are not to remain a dead letter, Christ, the eternal Word of the living God, must, through the Holy Spirit, "open [our] minds to understand the Scriptures." - CCC 108

Parish Life - Council of Catholic Women
Written by Madeline Chin
Sunday, October 17, 2010
The Council of Catholic Women helps them do that by sponsoring SANTA’S SHOPPING. Held on December 4th, this event offers kids through 4th grade a veritable department store of gift items. We do this by collecting new, nearly new, and never used gift items for women, men, children, and babies. Think of what you have at home that you could donate so that these youngsters can have the pleasure of buying gifts for a very low price, and then giving them to their families and friends. You can donate items by leaving them in the church office, marked for CCW, and we’ll put them in our kids’ sale. We’ll be collecting for the next couple of months, but you can start donating as soon as you have your items together. For more information, contact CCW president Madeline Chin.
