Catholic Quote

[The new Washington State law legalizing assisted suicide] represents a dangerous new assault on the culture of life. Of special concern is the threat that legalizing assisted suicide poses for vulnerable persons, who are already at risk of marginalization by an individualistic and utilitarian perspective of life. Those most at risk from this dangerous change in public policy are elderly persons, those without adequate health care, people with disabilities and those with no family support system. --Bishops of Washington State, “Respecting Life at the End of Life”

John 21: 15-17 “Jesus said to Peter, ‘If you love me, Feed My Sheep.”

We have the joy of introducing you to more Food Pantry Volunteers. Today we are Highlighting the areas: in charge of Baby Food & Diapers is Mike Carlotta with 3 years of service and Jaques Leclerc, who is visiting from Canada, with his wife Jeanne. She is in the Juice Section. They volunteer 3 months a year. Milk & Juice Section: Jeanne Schill for 3 years. Rice & Toilet Paper Section: Deborah Wotherspoon, 3 years. Our heartfelt THANKS! to these wonderful faithful servants of God. This week we served 151 families. Please continue to contribute where you can, especially soup, cereal canned vegetables and fruit, pasta sauce, beans, toilet tissue, baby food and diapers. Any of these go along way. Please help wherever you can. Special Notice: HNJ FOOD PANTRY needs DRIVERS to pick up food donations during the day. Presently we have a Wed. 11 a.m. pick-up that we need to cover. We can always use extra drivers to pick up the slack when regular drivers are on vacation. If you can help us,
we would be very appreciative. Call Bob Lanoue, F.P. Transportation Coordinator at 965-1211.
